Our vision is clear – Drive sustainability and recover 100,000 tons of rubber materials globally annually by 2030.
Facilitating the mass adoption of Functionalised Micronized Rubber Powder (FMRP) together with industries that are desperately trying to sustainably reduce their carbon emissions and find alternatives sources of sustainable materials.
At Atlantis Powder Rubbers the team is committed to decarbonizing our supply chain to ensure that our recovered materials make a significant contribution to resource conservation, minimize environmental impact and potential human right infringements.
To achieve the best results, we shall collaborate with various partners whilst approaching the business of recovering materials from end-of-life tyres (ELTs) and producing FMRP from both an economic, as well as a sustainable perspective.
Our business model has a firm focus on driving financial returns whilst ensuring a positive impact on the environment.
Our team
His tenure includes 4 years as COO of a local project development company which saw him heading the project development team on a variety of utility scale renewable energy projects, as well as the early stages of establishment of a renewable energy trading company with the largest private PPA in Africa.
His responsibilities included the running of the O&M division within the Group which was responsible for the operations and maintenance of the largest Concentrated Photo Voltaic Power Plant in Africa. In 2019 he co-founded Atlantis Rubber Powders BV (Netherlands) with the shared vision of producing Functionalized Micronized Rubber Powder (FMRP), facilitating the mass re-use of waste tyres into new tyres.
He co-founded two rubber roller recovering operations from 2000 to 2005. Thereafter he moved back to Europe and in 2006 was invited to join DSM Elastomers as an applied rubber technical expert. He joined Black Bear Carbon as a co-founder in 2011 with the shared vision of producing high quality recovered carbon black (RCB) from end-of-life tyres.
In 2019 he co-founded Atlantis Rubber Powders BV (Netherlands) with the shared vision of producing Functionalized Micronized Rubber Powder (FMRP), facilitating the mass re-use of waste tyres into new tyres. His knowledge of applied rubber science/technology and rubber compounding coupled with his in-depth understanding of customer needs help ensure that ARP is focused on producing products that the market requires.
My conclusion after the past 10 years of experience in the end-of-life tire industry, which resulted in a valuable network with industry players, potential customers and government departments:
‘Tires are going to be part of our lives for the foreseeable future; therefor any recycling solution must ensure that it addresses all challenges when tires reach ‘end-of-life’ status. The recycling solution also needs to present a viable business-case and needs to be easily scalable to large volumes to achieve significant global CO2 savings. ARP has achieved all this with their breakthrough technology’.
